New York hardware stores increase sales with the storm

New Yorkers who thought they would get through the rest of the winter without another major storm had to go, at the last minute, to hardware stores for shovels and salt.

There were many who had to go to various hardware stores in search of tools to be able to deal with the winter storm.

Among the most requested items were shovels, salt and even sleds to play in the snow.

During what could be several busy days for hardware stores, these businesses said they feel good about serving the community and are taking advantage of the situation to remind themselves that they are an essential business.
