At the United Nations Tribune, Guinean Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah made a major announcement in New York. The head of government who delivered his speech at the 79th Session of the Ordinary General Assembly of the United Nations indicated that Guinea is willing to provide nearly 650 agents to stabilize the Republic of Haiti.

“We have actively participated in peacekeeping efforts under the auspices of the United Nations, and we will continue to do so, with the certainty that peace is the first condition for development and justice. So we are willing to provide almost 650 policemen and gendarmes to stabilize martyred Haiti,” said Bah Oury.
“But,” he continues, “peace can only be achieved through strengthened cooperation and major reform of multilateral institutions.”
“That is why we also need to rethink our approach to resolving ongoing conflicts in the Sahel region.”

For him, “it is time to move beyond military responses and assassinations alone, and promote an integrated strategy that combines economic development, institutional strengthening and better regional cooperation.” “
