The investigation found that Andrew Cuomo harassed not only his subordinates, but also those women who were not employees of the state administration.
The governor of the American state of New York, Andrew Cuomo, sexually harassed his subordinates. Such results of the trial were announced on Tuesday, August 3, by the state attorney general Laetitia James during a press conference, which was broadcast by the TV channel CNN.
According to the prosecutor, as part of the investigation, investigators heard testimonies from 179 people.
“The content of these conversations, as well as a number of testimonies, provide a clear picture: Governor Cuomo sexually harassed current and former administration officials in violation of both federal and state laws,” said James.
In addition, she added, the governor also harassed women who were not employees of the state administration.
Despite this, the prosecutor said, charges have not yet been brought against Cuomo.
At the same time, US President Joe Biden, during a meeting with reporters at the White House, said that since the investigation had confirmed the fact of harassment by Andrew Cuomo against subordinates, he should resign.
Recall that in February of this year, former Assistant Governors of New York State Charlotte Bennett and Lindsay Boylan reported sexual harassment by the 63-year-old governor. Cuomo denied these charges.
In connection with statements by women in the Biden administration insisted on the need for an independent hearing.
