New York Governor Announces Random Bag Searches in Subway Stations to Boost Security
In a bold move to address the rising concerns of safety and security in New York City’s subway system, Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the implementation of random bag searches in subway stations. To address fare evasion, Governor Hochul emphasized the increased law enforcement presence near the turnstiles. With a police officer or a member of the National Guard watching, fare evaders will think twice before trying to bypass the system.
