New York Giants give Platzgummer NFL contract

The Tyrolean Sandro Platzgummer, 24, is fighting for a place in the squad in the preseason.

The New York Giants announced on Monday that they have signed running back Sandro Platzgummer. After a season in the International Player Pathway Program with the Giants, the 24-year-old Tyrolean now has the chance of a permanent place in the squad of the four-time Super Bowl champions (most recently 2011) for the coming season. Until then it is still a tough and rocky road for Platzgummer, who is already back in the USA.

Especially in the preseason games, the Innsbrucker has to make a good impression in order to realize his dream of the National Football League (NFL). AFBÖ President Michael Eschlböck is confident that Platzgummer will make the leap into the final Giants team.

“The New York Giants have apparently recognized Sandro’s potential. His ‘water-wings’, the protection against a cut that he enjoyed through the International Player Pathway Program, are gone now, but we all know what he’s made of. If it is someone creates, then he, “emphasized Eschlböck in an association broadcast on Monday.

It will soon be exciting for Thomas Schaffer, who signed up for the NFL Draft at the end of April after graduating from Stanford University. For Bernhard Seikovits and Leo Misangumukini a place in the International Player Pathway Program, which has also passed Platzgummer, is envisaged. The two Vikings players are eagerly awaiting news from the NFL after their camps at home.
