New York Fashion Week: an essentially digital edition with few parades

(ETX Studio) – The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has lifted the veil on the official schedule for the upcoming New York Fashion Week, which will be held September 13-16. While Milan has made the choice of a hybrid fashion week with physical and digital, the big apple will mainly present digital shows, with a few exceptions, via its platform. RUNWAY360.

Times are hard for the fashion industry which has been hit hard by the coronavirus crisis, and even more so for New York, whose fashion weeks have only been getting shorter for several seasons. Spring-Summer 2021 Fashion Week, scheduled from September 13 to 16, will only highlight around sixty shows, mainly in digital version.

Good news for the public and fashion addicts who will have the chance to view some shows and a lot of content online. But also for the fifteen new names that are appearing in the official program (Aknvas, Anne Klein, Colleen Allen, Dur Doux, Oak & Acorn, Venicew, Wolk Morais, among others), which might not have been so without this exceptional new edition.

New York Fashion Week kicks off September 13 at 5 p.m. with Jason Wu and ends September 16 at 7 p.m. with Tom Ford. Among the big names in fashion, will participate Carolina Herrera, Dennis Basso, Marchesa, Badgley Mischka, LaQuan Smith, and Eckhaus Latta. On the other hand, Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler, Brandon Maxwell and Prabal Gurung, are among the big absent from this edition.
