New York equities outlook: Little movement after recent record run

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – In view of the current record run, Wall Street is unlikely to start trading with any changes. Three quarters of an hour before the stock market start on Thursday, the broker IG estimated the US leading index Dow Jones Industrial hardly changed at 35,482 points.

By midweek, investors reacted with relief that the already high inflation rate in the United States had stopped rising. On Thursday it became known that producer prices in the USA have increased surprisingly and significantly.

Among the individual values, the shares of Ebay fell by almost two percent. The online trading platform posted significant business growth in the second quarter, but the prospect of net sales fell short of expectations.

In contrast, Palantir’s papers soared in the pre-IPO business by almost nine percent. The data analysis company had surprised both with its sales figures and with the sales forecast.

The shares of Micron Technology lost around three percent early on the market after analyst Shawm Kim from Bank Morgan Stanley had commented negatively on the shares of the memory chip manufacturer.
