NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – Before the minutes of the US Federal Reserve were published, the New York stock indices moved very little in early Wednesday trading. The leading index Dow Jones Industrial rose 0.16 percent to 33,483.53 points. The market-wide S&P 500 gained 0.11 percent to 4078.26 points and the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 was quoted virtually unchanged in percentage terms at 13 577.47 points. The standard values in particular remained close to their record highs.
The minutes of the latest Fed meeting could add some movement to the late equity business. According to the analyst Stephen Innes from the broker Axi, investors should be scrutinized the statements of the central bankers, especially for indications of a monetary policy that will no longer be quite as loose in the future. The expert does not consider a gradual increase in US yields to be a break for risky investments such as stocks.
