NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) expanded its previous day’s profits on Friday. The positive business figures for the Bank Goldman Sachs, among other things, ensured a good mood. In addition, retail sales, which are important for the USA as the world’s largest economy, rose surprisingly in September.
The US benchmark index rose 0.97 percent in early trading to 35 251.17 points. This brought the record high of 35,631 points that was reached in mid-August a step closer. On a weekly basis, there is an increase of around 1.5 percent.
The S&P 500 gained 0.63 percent to 4,466.25 points on Friday. The technology-heavy NASDAQ 100 went up 0.13 percent to 15 072.59 points./la/he
