NEW YORK – The New York District Attorney’s Office has rejected a deal offered by former President Donald Trump’s attorneys to close a tax fraud case against the businessman’s company “Trump Organization,” reported Thursday. New York Times.
The Times, citing three people familiar with the case, says the New York Attorney General’s Office, Letitia James, is considering indicting at least one of the president’s adult children as part of the investigation.
Both Ivanka, Eric and Donald Trump (son) have held senior positions in the former president’s company.
The newspaper assures that, although an agreement between the parties has not yet been ruled out, there is no indication that one will be produced in the short term.
The Prosecutor’s Office is investigating whether Trump’s company has overstated the value of its assets to obtain loans and economic and tax benefits.
