New York death toll rises 391 in a day, governor angered at young people

Governor Andrew Cuomo has decided to close all playgrounds in New York City. The intention is the same as in the rest of the world: that people keep their distance from each other. He said the New York City police will be more aggressive in enforcing the contact restrictions.

“Who else has to die?”

Cuomo is not yet happy with the way in which young people deal with the imposed restrictions. “They still haven’t gotten the message, you still see too many situations where young people are too close together,” said Cuomo. “Who else has to die so that you understand that you have a responsibility? So we’re going to take more action.”

New York has more confirmed corona cases than anywhere else in the United States, and about one in five hospital admissions are people under the age of 44, according to data from the city’s health department.

The total number of coronavirus infections in the US has risen to over 200,000. The number of people who have succumbed to the virus in the US rose to more than 4,500.

Italy and Spain

In Italy, 727 new deaths have been reported, bringing the total to 13,155. Italy is the most affected country. Still, the figure is also a little bit of good news. Yesterday, 837 deaths were reported. The number of new infections increased by 4,782 to 110,574.

Spain is the most affected country after Italy. There is not yet a drop in the number of deaths there. Today, 864 new deaths were reported, making a total of 9053. The number of infections identified rose from 94,417 on Tuesday to 102,136 on Wednesday.
