New York: Consul Chu Vásquez sweeps the Dominican consulate

NEW YORK.- Almost immediately, President Abinader left for the Dominican Republic, after exhausting his busy schedule in the New York city, the newly appointed Dominican consul in this city, Jesus (Chú) Vásquezbegan to apply the cancellations of consular employees and the majority are leaders of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) in their section.

It is said in this city that the cancellations were made because those laid off are pensioned by the Dominican government in the administration of President Abinader.

On an official stamped sheet of the consulate, dated: Sep. 27-2004, said cancellations state: “I hereby write to you to notify you that, as of September 30 of this year, by order of the Directorate Operation of this Dominican Consulate General in the city of New York, it has been decided to dispense with its services.”

“Without any other particulars to express and thanking you for the dedication expressed in your duties, we wish you success in your future projects.”

Among the package of those canceled are Erasmo Chalas, Darío Abreu, José Tapia, Cándido Gutiérrez, Angel Mambrú (Peñita), Ana Mercedes Burgos, Agustín Ogando, Ambiorix Hernández, Luis Núñez, Ramon Chacón, Manuel Domínguez, Juan Cordero, Henry Quirico among others. In addition, it is said that next week the cancellations will continue at the Dominican consulate in New York City.
