New York confirmed four new cases of the vacillating COVID-19 Omicron on Monday for a total of twelve cases in the state, Gov. Kathy Hochul said.
The cases have been confirmed by sequencing the SARS-CoV-2 virus by the Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health. Two of the new cases are from Suffolk County and two are from Oneida County.
The Democrat did not release more details about the people who tested positive, whether they were vaccinated or whether any had traveled abroad.
The other confirmed cases so far in the state are: a 67-year-old woman on Long Island who had recently traveled to South Africa, residents of Brooklyn and Queens, and another case from New York City. In addition to the three confirmed cases over the weekend in the Big Apple.
“Four more cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 have been identified in New York State.
