In addition to the new trucks, the city will implement a new “data-driven containerization” strategy, essentially designating different classes of containers for different buildings.
“New Yorkers have been clear: They are tired of the black bags lining our sidewalks, the garbage juice oozing out of them, and being told that other cities around the world can have something we can’t,” said DSNY Commissioner Tisch. .
