An analysis called Best Foodie Cities in America (2023), released by WalletHub, determined that New York City closes the top-20 of the best foodie cities in the United States.
Across 28 key metrics, such as food cost, affordability and accessibility to high-quality restaurants, experts studied a total of 128 cities in the country.
New York placed second to last in the “affordability” category, but took 10th place in diversity, equity and equality.
Orlando is the best gastronomic city in the country, according to the study
Rochester, another city in New York state, barely reached 48th place, while Newark, New Jersey, came in at 61st place.
For its part, in Connecticut, New Haven was ranked 76th and Bridgeport was much further behind, at 150th in the rankings.
The best gastronomic city in the United States, according to the study, is Orlando, Florida. While Pearl City, Hawaii, came in last place.
