Mayor of New York City speaks out against planned mining ban

Eric Adams, the newly elected mayor of New York City, spoke out on Monday against the planned mining ban in the US state of New York.
The law, which has already been passed and is now awaiting signature, would temporarily ban new mining companies from locating in upstate New York for the next two years. Only companies that feed themselves 100% from renewable energies should then settle there.
What is particularly piquant about the new law is that it primarily affects the market-leading cryptocurrency (BTC), as the ban would relate to mining with regard to the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus process, which is known to be used by the crypto market leader finds.
