New York City: Deadly Brooklyn Shootout During Neighbors Party


At least one person was killed and a dozen others injured in a shooting that took place Saturday night during a neighborhood party in a park in Brownsville, in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York, according to US media.

A New York police spokesperson has announced the death of a 38-year-old man who was shot in the head, reports the Los Angeles Times (in English). At least six people were taken to hospital.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was quick to respond on Twitter: “A horrific shooting in Brownsville tonight struck a peaceful neighborhood party. Our hearts go out to the victims. We will do everything in our power to ensure the safety of this community and free our streets from guns ”.

No arrests were made and the police did not raise a possible suspect.
