Credit Suisse has fired one of its directors in New York City. The reason: The man started a bizarre brawl in the Koreatown district. This is reported by the New York Post. Video footage from surveillance cameras shared on Instagram shows the director attacking a waitress at a restaurant.
In the early hours of last Saturday, he stumbled into a Korean restaurant, visibly drunk, to go to the toilet, the restaurant’s owner told the newspaper. When she tried to explain to the manager that the restroom was for customers only, he became aggressive, refused to leave and started filming the owner on her cell phone.
“I was very friendly to him, but he just went crazy,” she claims. Surveillance footage shows the banker attempting to take the restaurant owner’s phone, allegedly throwing a waiter’s notepad on the floor and wrestling with a waiter before punching him on the head and pulling his hair.
Waiter still traumatized by incident
According to the restaurant owner, the waiter, who she says was beaten bloody, is still traumatized by the incident. “He’s afraid to serve someone who’s been drinking,” she told the New York Post. Her restaurant also suffered. She suffered losses as a result of the incident. «My customers left without ordering. Who wants to come into a restaurant when something like this happens?”
The restaurant owner’s daughter shared her frustration on Instagram: “My parents work seven days a week and haven’t taken a vacation for six years. When the police came, they just talked to the man and walked away. Our waiter was bleeding from the forehead after the guy hit his head. He grabbed my mom’s cell phone to break it and he got away with it.”
Credit Suisse is aware of the allegations circulating on social media and has fired the director, the newspaper said. “Credit Suisse adheres to a policy that condemns discrimination, bullying or violence of any kind,” the company said in a statement. The manager, on the other hand, claims he did nothing wrong and was provoked when the waiter sprained his thumb. The New York Police Department has launched an investigation into the case.
