NEW YORK (Reuters) – The City of New York will break contracts with the Trump Organization, Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Wednesday, a week after the violence by supporters of the outgoing president on Capitol Hill.
“The president incited (his supporters) to a rebellion against the United States government which claimed the lives of five people and almost derailed the constitutional transfer of power,” he said in a statement.
“New York City will not be associated with these unforgivable acts in any form,” added the mayor.
The Trump Organization’s contracts, which cover the operation of an amusement ride in Central Park, ice rinks and a golf course in the Bronx, are worth about $ 17 million a year, Bill de Blasio told MSNBC .
