New York: Penthouse sold for 130 million francs to an unknown person
And duplex of 1160 m², with a view of Central Park, has just found a buyer. It is located at “Billionaires’ Row”, a collection of ultra-luxurious skyscraper residences.

At 472 meters high, the Central Park Tower is one of the most famous skyscrapers in New York. Its construction on “Billionaires’ Row”, a set of ultra-luxury residential skyscrapers, was completed in 2022 and now houses 180 apartments. The duplex penthouse which occupies the 107th and 108th floors has found a buyer. But its buyer is still unknown.
The initial price of the penthouse, $175 million, was recently lowered to $149.5 million (130 million francs) because it did not find a buyer. The exact amount paid by the mysterious buyer is unknown. As developer Gary Barnett, boss of Extell Development, revealed to the Wall Street Journal, the final amount was slightly lower than the required price.
This is the first real estate worth more than $100 million sold in New York in more than a year. The last such sale was that of the American billionaire’s apartment Daniel Oh in 2022, sold for nearly $190 million. But it’s far from being the most expensive apartment ever sold in the American metropolis. This record is held by Ken Griffin, who paid 238 million in 2019 for another apartment on Billionaires’ Row.
1160 m² with views of all of New York
With a living area of 1,160 m2, the duplex penthouse benefits from a ceiling height of nine meters, a view of New York and Central Park, and seven bedrooms. For comparison, apartments in Switzerland are on average 99 m2: the penthouse could therefore accommodate almost twelve!
The new owners will be able to benefit from 1160 m2, spread over two floors.

As luxurious as the layout of the penthouse is, the major asset of the latter is undoubtedly the view it offers through its immense bay windows: they overlook not only Central Park, but also the Empire State Building, the World Trade Center, One Vanderbilt as well as the East River and the Hudson River. This view can also be admired from two terraces with a total area of 23 m2, a fairly rare surface area in this type of skyscraper.
In addition to the seven bedrooms, the penthouse has eight bathrooms, most of which are attached to the bedrooms. There is also a library, a games room, two offices, a professional kitchen with its dining room, as well as a second kitchen for the caterer for events. As for the noise pollution of the city that never sleeps, we can forget about them: at this height, we hear no noise, the ad guaranteed.
