Most coronavirus infections in the world are counted in the United States. New York State has been hit hardest, yesterday saw another record number of deaths in one day, 799. The total number in the state is now over 7,000. In New York City alone, a total of 5,150 people have now died from Covid-19.
There is a glimmer of hope for the US. Yesterday there was a sharp drop in the number of hospitalized patients. Only 200 were added in the last 24 hours, the lowest number since the start of the epidemic. Last week, sometimes more than 1,000 patients were added to hospitals every day.
