New York Braces for Third Winter Storm in a Week with Potential Flooding

The third winter storm in a week will arrive next Friday night in New York with the possibility of leaving new flooding in its wake.

This caused rivers to overflow and flood towns in New Jersey and areas of New York such as Queens and Long Island.

Stephanie Viés of the Guardians of Time, warned that on this occasion rain is expected for Friday night.

Although the accumulation is expected to be lower, there is a possibility of flooding due to the saturation of the soil due to the rains of last Saturday and Tuesday.

“We know another storm is on the way. The system will advance rapidly towards our area and by 10:00 on Friday night it begins to rain throughout the City,” he explained.

“It will be intensifying around midnight, by 2:00 or 2:30 in the morning there will be intense rain throughout the area and it will completely withdraw at 4:00 in the morning,” added Viés.

“We have already had many problems with overflows, flooding of rivers and this is going to continue with this round of rain.”

The National Weather Service warned that the system will bring heavy rain and coastal flooding is expected.

In addition, it will bring strong gusts of wind so there could be power outages.

In New Jersey the warning for the Passaic River overflowing remains in effect.
