New York begins to reopen its schools after closure by covid-19

The city schools of New York begin to reopen for in-person learning. Less than two weeks ago they were closed, after the citywide coronavirus test positive rate exceeded the 3% benchmark agreed upon by the mayor, Bill de Blasio, and the teachers union. Johns Hopkins University recorded 58 deaths and 9,702 new coronavirus cases across New York state on Sunday.
