The end of the restrictions of the corona pandemic is celebrated with a lot of music in New York. The “boss” is already on the list, now there are a few top-class players.

Patti Smith, Andrea Bocelli, LL Cool J, Elvis Costello, Wyclef Jean, Barry Manilow, Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas will perform at the planned major concert in New York’s Central Park at the end of the restrictions of the corona pandemic. Mayor Bill de Blasio announced this.

It had previously been announced that musicians such as Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson and Paul Simon would be present at the event planned for August 21. Bands like Earth, Wind & Fire and The Killers as well as the New York Philharmonic have also registered.

According to earlier information, around 60,000 people will take part in the show – star producer Clive Davis has been tasked with planning. If you want to be there live, you have to show proof of vaccination, said de Blasio. Around 80 percent of the tickets are to be awarded free of charge, and the concert will also be broadcast on the TV broadcaster CNN. The week before, there will also be live concerts in the four other New York boroughs of Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.

The east coast metropolis of New York was the epicenter of the corona pandemic in the USA last spring. The infection process is now largely under control – even if there are concerns about the spread of the delta variant.
