A New York actress has been fired from her theater company after complaining about street closures at the funeral of slain police officer Jason Rivera.
In the now-deleted video rant filmed on Friday, Jacqueline Guzman said, “We don’t need to shut down most of Lower Manhattan because a cop is dead for probably doing his job wrong. »
“They kill people under 22 every day for no good reason and we don’t close the city for them,” she added in the TikTok clip.
The clip showed Guzman walking down an empty street that had been barricaded for the funeral.
“How crazy ***** ridiculous. This is fucking ridiculous. What if someone had a heart attack in that area,” she continued.
“Nobody can reach them because everything is blocked for a fucking cop,” she fumed.
A Brooklyn police officer told the New York Post that the actress’ statements were “completely disrespectful, not only to the NYPD but to all residents of New York and to all humans.” If this is the only way for her to get publicity, I’m so sorry for her.
Guzman’s former theater company, Face to Face Films, released a statement after the video went viral.
“Face to Face Films has just been made aware of an insensitive video involving one of our members, Jacqueline Guzman,” the company said on Facebook.
“Face to Face Films does not support or condone these comments about deceased officer Rivera. As a result, she is no longer a member of our society. »
According to Guzman’s biography on the company’s website, she is a Cuban-American actress from Miami, Florida.
The streets of New York have been closed for the funerals of the two young officers who were shot and killed while responding to an incident of domestic violence last week.

They were fatally shot while responding to a domestic incident last Friday.
The coffin of Rivera, 22, was carried to St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday for his wake ahead of Friday’s funeral.
Hundreds of mourners, many in uniform, lined the streets to pay their respects, reports the New York Post.
The rookie officer had been on the job for barely a year.
Mora, 27, was an officer for four years. He will be buried next week.
