New York: A truck hits pedestrians and injures several people

Several people were injured by an out-of-control moving truck in the Brooklyn area of ​​New York, police say. Several pedestrians were hit by the vehicle and a cyclist was dragged to the ground by the truck on Monday morning, according to the New York Post.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. at the corner of 5th Avenue and Bay Ridge Parkway. The truck then fled at full speed down 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, authorities said. He was later arrested near the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, according to New York City Councilman Justin Brannan.

“A man driving a U-Haul went on a rampage in Bay Ridge… Several people were struck and seriously injured. We have no idea of ​​the motives at this time but it was not an accident,” a- he tweeted. “We believe he hit at least 6 people with the truck and 2 of them are in very poor condition.
