New York: a sculpture representing Putin perched on a tank appears in the middle of Central Park

The setting: a sandbox in Central Park, one of the emblematic places of New York. The actors: children playing in this same sandbox… with an enigmatic toy. The regulars of the place were surprised to discover, this Wednesday, a new installation near the slides. If the toddlers did not necessarily recognize him, the adults immediately identified Russian President Vladimir Putin perched on a tank.

This sculpture is the work of the French artist James Colomina, known for making his contemporaries react by placing his creations, all red in color, without authorization, in places chosen to make their political or social message resonate. The master of the Kremlin on his tank, in the middle of the other children, seems here to be a dirty kid playing at war. Undoubtedly, the idea of the sculptor is to denounce the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

James Colomina had already brought this same sculpture to light. She had already made the happiness of the little Parisians and little Parisiennes a few weeks ago. She had also been seen in a park in Barcelona.
