It is an architectural project that almost never saw the light of day as it has been criticized (not green, too expensive…): Little Island Park was inaugurated last May in southern Manhattan. Designed by the London studio Heatherwick and the New York firm MNLA, this 1 hectare green space rises above the Hudson River thanks to 280 concrete pillars of different heights that create an artificial island with undulating relief. Accessible by two walkways, it offers visitors lawns, shaded paths, an amphitheater with 700 seats and a beautiful view of the skyscrapers and the river.
