New York is traditionally the last rendezvous at the start of the year before the wave of autumnal fairs like Frankfurt, Paris or Tokyo. It is, along with the Geneva Motor Show and the Shanghai Auto Show, one of the turning points of spring. Here is a quick overview of the models presented and which are expected to hit the road by the end of the year.
Mazda CX-5 Diesel 2020
We were no longer expecting it for so long that Mazda had been talking to us about it. The CX-5 Diesel will finally be marketed in the second half of 2019.

Only available with the Signature trim, this CX-5 will be equipped with a 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D 4-cylinder engine that will deliver 168 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 290 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm.
According to estimates from Natural Resources Canada, consumption will be 8.9 liters per 100 km in the city, 7.9 liters per 100 km on the highway, for a median of 8.5 liters. The addition of the 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D expands the 2019 CX-5’s engine lineup which already includes the SKYACTIV-G 2.5 turbo and the SKYACTIV-G 2.5 with cylinder deactivation. However, with this average consumption estimated at 8.5 liters per 100 km, one wonders if the model is really relevant.
