Ten years after his departure from “New York Special Unit”, Christopher Meloni resumes his role of Elliot Stabler in a spin-off called “New York Organized Crime” which arrives this evening in France on 13th Street.
What is it about ?
Returning to the New York police force after facing personal tragedy, Elliot Stabler heads up a special unit tasked with combating organized crime. As he tries to dismantle the most powerful criminal syndicates, former partner Olivia Benson discovers that the city and the police force have changed a lot since her departure. Stabler will therefore have to adapt to changes in the judicial system while trying to rebuild itself.

Christopher Meloni returns to service in even darker spin-off
Party of New York Special Unit, of which he was one of the two heroes, in 2011, at the end of season 12, Christopher Meloni, seen since in Happy !, finds ten years later the universe of the Law & Order franchise to the delight of fans. And inherits its own series, Law & Order: Organized Crime, renamed in France New York Organized Crime.
Introduced in a Special Unit New York episode featuring the reunion between Stabler and Olivia Benser (Mariska Hargitay), this spin-off created by Dick Wolf, Ilene Chaiken, and Matt Olmstead, could well be even darker and more brutal than the mother series, which however does not lack sordid investigations and cases.

Stabler joins a new unit tasked with fighting organized crime and will attempt, throughout the eight episodes of season 1, to avenge the murder of his wife, as revealed in the trailer visible above. A perilous mission which will see him in particular confront a dangerous crime lord played by Dylan McDermott (The Practice, American Horror Story), and for which he will happily be able to count on the support of his new teammate, Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) .
And if the loyalists of the Law & Order franchise will perhaps be unsettled by the soap opera side of the series, which tells a unique plot during its first season, they will certainly be delighted to find winks at Special Unit New York since Mariska Hargitay, aka Olivia Benson, appears in five of the first eight episodes.
Launched last spring on NBC in the United States, New York Organized Crime arrives only a few months later in France on 13th Street. And the good news is that a season 2 of 24 episodes is already being broadcast across the Atlantic.
