– Bok-soo Jung, the oldest survivor of the Japanese military’comfort women’, died on the morning of the 12th. As a result, the number of survivors among the comfort women victims registered with the Korean government has decreased from 16 to 15.

‘House of Sharing’ in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, a support facility for comfort women, said on the day, “According to the will of the grandmother and the bereaved family, the funeral is held privately as a Christian family leader, and detailed information such as grandmother’s actions is not disclosed.”

Grandma Jung has been living in the House of Sharing since 2013. He was registered on the family register of his older sister, who passed away early, and has been known to be 106 years old, but the actual age is 98. He is the oldest surviving comfort woman victim even by his actual age.
