– Along the coast in the south, the snowy weather has already started and when it comes north towards Eastern Norway, it will only snow more and more, she says.
Before the last day of the year, an orange warning has been issued about very heavy snow in parts of Agder, Vestfold and Telemark. A yellow snow warning has been issued for the rest of Eastern Norway, including Oslo.
– Once it starts snowing, it doesn’t stop. The snow seems to be heavier around midnight. There will also be clouds and a little extra wind from the north-east, so we can’t exactly call it fireworks weather, says Borander.
Wind in the west
The snow will also come to Rogaland and the southern parts of Vestland.
– It will be somewhat cloudy in Bergen as well, but further north in Møre and Romsdal there are good opportunities for clear weather.

The meteorologist, however, does not want to say that it will be a quiet end to the year.
– There is a lot of clear weather already, but it seems that the wind will pick up a little. As a result, it can be quite windy this evening and at midnight, she says.
Best weather in the north
In Northern Norway, on the other hand, there will be good opportunities to see the sky filled with lights and bangs in all colours.
– This is probably the area in the country that will be the weather winners on New Year’s Eve, says Borander.
In the north, it will be almost windless and starry throughout the district, she says.
– There may be some snow right up to the Swedish border in Troms and on the Finnmarksvidda. Otherwise, there will be a lot of clear weather.
