Police Ludwigshafen reports 14 crimes on New Year’s Eve
In total, there were 14 criminal offenses and three administrative offenses in connection with the New Year’s Eve celebrations in the front and southern Palatinate. These included assault, property damage and insults.
In Harthausen near Speyer, a 21-year-old was robbed while he was arguing with a taxi driver about the fare. The previously unknown perpetrator drove up in a car, hit his victim and stole 50 euros from him. The victim suffered minor facial injuries.
There were 23 police operations in the Landau police area, most of them due to disputes or excessive alcohol consumption. At around 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day, officers found a 29-year-old sleeping in a hallway. According to the police, the man had celebrated in various restaurants and had a “film break”. He couldn’t explain why he wasn’t wearing any pants or shoes anymore.
Ludwigshafen fire brigade deploys 19 times on New Year’s Eve
In the Vorderpfalz, there were probably six balcony fires caused by fireworks flying around, which had to be extinguished by the fire brigade. Only minor damage was caused in each case. The fire brigade reported a total of 19 missions, but there were no injuries. A car and a house wall were damaged in a garbage can fire in Ludwigshafen. The extent of the damage has not yet been determined.

A spokesman for the BG accident clinic in Ludwigshafen, on the other hand, spoke of an “eventful night”.
