NEW YORK — Are you planning to be near Times Square this New Year’s Eve?
The New York Police have already announced the closure of streets for the event in the heart of Manhattan. Street parking will be extremely limited in midtown Manhattan throughout Sunday, and people are encouraged to use public transportation.
Here’s what drivers need to know, and we’ve got answers to all the top questions about the end-of-the-year celebration in Times Square here.
Street closures in New York for New Year’s Eve
The following streets will be closed starting at 4 a.m. Sunday:
- Seventh Avenue from 42nd to 48th streets.
- Broadway from 43rd to 48th streets.
- 43rd to 48th Streets from Sixth to Eighth Avenues
More streets will be closed from 11am on Sunday:
- Southbound, Seventh Avenue and Broadway from 38th to 59th Streets
These closures apply to commercial vehicles and other large vehicles, including trucks, and begin at 11 a.m. Sunday:
- North on Sixth Avenue from 34th to 59th Streets
- North on Eighth Avenue from 34th to 59th Streets
- East of Ninth Avenue from 37th to 59th Streets
- West of Fifth Avenue from 35th to 59th Streets
