The end of year celebrations can be the pretext for disturbances affecting public peace and public security. In order to prevent these incidents, the prefect of the Aisne has adopted a series of measures regulating the use of fireworks and the transport of fuel.
Two measures are implemented.
- until Friday January 1, 2021 inclusive, the use of fireworks of categories F2 to F4 (or C2 to C4), pyrotechnic articles of categories T1 and T2 as well as any launching device is prohibited on the way or public spaces. These fireworks are frequently used as weapons by destination and present risks to people who handle them carelessly;
- until Friday January 1, 2021 inclusive, throughout the territory of the Aisne department, fuel transport is prohibited in any transportable container, except where necessary duly justified and verified, as necessary, with the assistance of the national police or the national gendarmerie. This measure is intended to prevent attempted arson.
Checks will be carried out by the national police and the gendarmerie in shops and gas stations.
