The Oppo Reno 7 5G received a special version that the Chinese tech giant dubbed the Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year’s Edition. The special edition model brings a new color to the smartphone and has a special logo engraved on the back panel. The Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year Edition was launched in China and, so far, there is no information about its launch in other markets. The Oppo Reno 7 series was released in China in November and has not yet been released globally.

The price of Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year Edition is the same as Oppo Reno 7 5G vanilla. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs. 31,800), the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 35,400) and the storage variant is 12 GB RAM + 256 GB is available for CNY 3,299 (about Rs. 38,900). Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year Edition comes in a special color – Velvet Red – and has a tiger logo engraved next to the rear camera module.
Through a post on Weibo, Oppo mentioned that he engraved the Tiger logo on the back panel, as 2022 is considered the Year of the Tiger in China.
Oppo Reno 7 5G Specifications
As the Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year Edition is just a redesign, it has the same specs as the Oppo Reno 7 5G vanilla which was released in China in November. The phone features a 6.43-inch (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED full-HD+ screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
For optics, the Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year Edition has a triple rear camera configuration with a 64 megapixel primary sensor, an 8 megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 2 megapixel macro lens. On the front, it gets a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 sensor. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS / A-GPS, NFC and a Type-C USB port. The phone comes with a 4,500 mAh battery with 60W Flash Charge fast charging support.
