The fact that the real New Year’s dive was canceled did not stop dozens of enthusiasts from jumping into the cold water. One of them was Dennis van der Geest. “Starting 2021 very stupidly now,” said presenter and former judoka in his Instagram Stories prior to his dive. “2021 started nice and fresh”, he posted afterwards. “It was cold.”
