At the New Year celebrations in New York traditionally includes a colorful rain of confetti in Times Square. At midnight, more than 1.3 tons of colorful scraps of paper are thrown by hand at the revelers. Now the dress rehearsal took place in the pouring rain.
One of the organizers said: “We have to be ready whatever the weather. There’s nothing worse than wet confetti. But as you can see, the confetti fly even in the worst conditions. We are absolutely ready for December 31.”
In recent weeks, visitors to Times Square have also been able to write wishes for the coming year on scraps of paper. On New Year’s Eve, these are then scattered among the party people together with the other colorful confetti.
