In January 2025, a brand new holiday park will open its doors in Viversel (Heusden-Zolder). Joëlle Vandebroek and Dries Nys are investing several millions in the project, which will have 16 holiday homes in the first phase. About 2 years later, another 28 houses were added, as well as a brand new brasserie and wellness areas.
A few months ago, the Zolder couple Joëlle Vandebroek and Dries Nys presented their project Woodz Lodges. The first 16 homes are mainly aimed at larger groups or families of 6 to 8 people, providing 88 sleeping places. Saunas and hot tubs are also provided. “Our focus is on offering peace and relaxation in beautiful, natural surroundings,” says owner Dries Nys. “The construction of those houses among the trees has now started and completion is expected in January 2025. In the very best case, we can already accommodate visitors to the European Cycling Championships in September next year.”
An expansion of the holiday park is already being announced well before the official opening. “We continue on the path of sustainability and add some innovations that take the entire project to a higher level,” Nys continues. The second phase includes 28 new holiday homes, good for 90 beds, and therefore suitable for smaller families or couples. There will also be 6 to 8 wellness houses, on top of the 3 from phase 1.
“We are also building a brand new brasserie with a reception area and extra parking. We are adding play elements especially for children across the entire 3-hectare site, such as a jungle path and a toddler trail. And of course, everything is made from sustainable materials.”
