The process of transferring conversation records on “WhatsApp” with the documents and attachments they contain will become easier than ever, thanks to a new feature launched by the instant communication application used by more than two billion people.
“It will soon be possible to transfer conversation records through the application by scanning the QR code,” Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, the company that owns the WhatsApp application, said.
But this feature only works if the two phones are using the same operating system, “Android” or “iOS”.
A quick response code will appear on the application screens in the phones, and by scanning this code via the new phone, conversation records and their attachments can be transferred.
And “WhatsApp” confirmed that the data that will be transferred between the two phones will not be seen by a third party, and it is “fully encrypted during the transfer process.”
This process will be easier than the current method that relies on cloud computing technology, including putting a backup copy on the iCloud storage service and then downloading it to the new phone.
This new feature bypasses the problem of storage limitations in cloud computing, for example, the free storage capacity in iCloud is only 5 gigabytes, and any addition to it will be for a fee.
