Welcome to Borbeck – from now on, visitors to the Borbeck center will be greeted with this large lettering on the bridge of the district train station. The light blue welcome sign, which, in addition to the lettering, also shows the silhouettes of Borbeck Castle, the Church of St. Dionysius and the Dampfbier brewery, was realized as part of the “Immediate program to strengthen our inner cities and centers in North Rhine-Westphalia”. “We are pleased about the new welcome sign, as it now makes the way into the Borbeck center even more inviting,” says Svenja Krämer, Head of City Management at EMG – Essen Marketing GmbH. The EMG developed the design together with District Council IV, the Borbeck master plan group and the Centrum Borbeck initiative group (CeBo).
