The weather in Finland will change to a rainier direction from the end of the week.

Europe’s medium-term weather forecasts are showing signs of change after a rather cloudy start to the week. The weather is changing to a rainier direction.
With the rains, warmer air will also arrive in Finland, contrary to previous forecasts.
– The monthly forecast for Finland has changed in a warmer direction than previously predicted. The long period of cold average weekly temperatures in previous forecasts has been replaced in a large area of Finland by weeks that are warmer than usual or with fairly normal temperatures, meteorologist Joanna Rinne says in Foreca’s blog.
However, it is pointless to rely on a very accurate forecast, because the forecast model runs do not follow a uniform line. Rinne says that there is more uncertainty than usual in the forecast.
– For example, the fact that successive forecasts have disagreed on whether the moving low-pressure centers in the Atlantic reach Finland or whether they take another route brings uncertainty to the forecasts. According to the latest forecast, after the middle of this week we will mainly have a westerly flow, when the weather in Finland would be variable and at times mild, at times colder, says Joanna Rinne.
The polar vortex in the northern polar region brings uncertainty to the spring-winter forecast. If the vortex weakens or breaks up, it allows colder air to reach further south.
The average temperatures of the current week have been 1–3 degrees higher than the average. In the northern part of Lapland, the temperatures have remained close to the averages. In the southern part of the country, temperatures have remained between 0 and 3 degrees during the beginning of the week. In the northern part of the country, the temperature has also risen to the plus side in some places. Temperatures of up to 4–6 degrees have been measured in places in southwestern Lapland.
– In the beginning of the week, the higher temperatures are isolated, while at the end of the week it will be warm widely in the southern and central parts of the country. In the north, this week it will be mostly on the freezing side, says Joanna Rinne.
In the latter half of the week, temperatures will rise widely in the southern and central part of the country to up to five plus degrees. The night temperatures are freezing all over the country.

Rain is expected for the coming week
Average temperatures are expected for the week starting on the 18th.
In the southern part of the country, however, the temperatures mainly stay on the positive side. It may be slightly warmer than usual in the southern and central part of the country.
In Lapland, the temperatures will drop slightly and the frost will tighten slightly below the averages.
According to the forecast, the week is going to be rainier than average. According to the current forecast, it will mainly be water in the southern and central parts of the country and snow in the north
With the rains brought by the low pressure, the windiness also increases.
– In next week’s temperature averages, the cold air mass in the direction of the Arctic Ocean and the Norwegian Sea seems to be strengthening. However, according to the daily forecasts, very variable weather seems to continue in Finland. It will be milder, colder and occasionally rainy weather, writes Joanna Rinne.

Easter seems to be warmer than usual
This year, Easter is celebrated between March and April. Good Friday falls on March 29 this year.
According to the current forecast, Easter will be celebrated in Finland in warmer weather than usual.
– In the week starting March 25th, according to the current forecast, the weather seems to be warmer than usual in Finland, as well as in a large part of the rest of Europe. The forecast for Finland does not really take a stand on precipitation anymore, writes Joanna Rinne.
Long-term forecasts tell about the average weather for a week or month. For individual days, temperatures may differ from the average.
