The sale of goods via live streaming on mobile phones has become the “new normal” in China’s e-commerce playing field.

On Saturday evening, around 30 million Chinese people watched a live broadcast of the presentation and sale of goods imported from European countries on their mobile phones. China Media Group (CMG), the most influential media organization in China, initiated the event and broadcast it through their new media platform. CMG moderator Zhu Guangquan and internet influencer Wei Ya presented the local customs and traditions in Russia, France, Spain and Germany and recommended the special products of these countries. At the end of the four-hour live broadcast, goods worth a total of 105 million yuan (about 13.4 million euros) had been sold, including 33.89 million yuan (about 4.32 million euros) of goods from Germany.

Rafael Dezcallar, the Spanish ambassador to China, presented his country’s goods on site. The former French Prime Minister Jean Pierre Raffarin and the Russian Ambassador to China, Andrei Denisov, have praised this new way of selling goods through video messages.

The live broadcast will take place as part of China’s third international import fair in Shanghai. Nearly 50 of the world’s 500 top companies and top companies from many industries participated in the exhibition for the first time this year. Hundreds of new products, new technologies and new services were announced at the import fair for the first time. One of the aims of the import fair is to promote consumption in China. After visiting the exhibition hall, the Spanish ambassador Dezcallar informed CMG that the fair would give Spanish companies a better chance of entering the Chinese market.
