The twin a few days ago introduced by the Ford Ranger attracts to its premiere with official sketches. We “built” a production car on their foundations.

It’s no secret that Volkswagen and Ford are working intensively on new generations of their commercial vehicles. The first tangible result of the cooperation introduced recently is him Ford Tourneo Connect, which shares the foundation with the VW Caddy and thanks to that receives, for example, all-wheel drive for the first time.

In the case of the Amarok pickup, it’s the other way around, here it will provide the technical basis for Ford, respectively model Ranger. And Volkswagen makes no secret of the fact that without such cooperation, the next generation of Amarok we would probably not see. But let’s see! We just have to wait a while, because sales on European markets will not start until the second half of next year.

However, this does not prevent the VW marketing team from slowly attracting us to the utility novelty. So some time ago, he showed two sketches that the second-generation Amarok reveals, at least in part. Although we don’t see the whole car, we can still easily guess what the rest of it looks like. Our colleague and graphic artist Honza Lušovský also thought the same way, as he set to work shortly after the sketches were published and showed us the possible appearance of a production car.

We don’t see the interior yet, but we assume that it will be the same as with the new Ranger. The applicant will therefore receive a large, vertically oriented infotainment display or an identical automatic transmission selector. Of course, the composition of the power units will be the same – we expect a two-liter four-cylinder and a three-liter six-cylinder, in both cases burning diesel. Over time, the plug-in hybrid should add to the offer.
