Vietnamese automotive components imported by Lotte Fine Chemical arrived at Ulsan Port this morning. This is the largest volume arriving domestically since China suspended urea customs clearance.
Lotte Fine Chemical is the largest business operator, occupying half of the domestic urea market, and plans to deliver 5,500 tons of urea imported on this day to the Lotte Fine Chemical Ulsan plant, immediately conduct a quality inspection, and then put it into production.

Lotte Fine Chemical explained that 5,500 tons of urea is enough to produce 15.5 million liters of urea water for vehicles, which can be used for about a month.
Previously, the government held an ‘Economic Security Core Items Task Force (TF) General Meeting’ chaired by Hong Doo-seon, Deputy Minister of Strategy and Finance, and announced that it had secured additional inventory of urea and urea water for vehicles, securing a total of 6.8 months’ supply.
Through the Public Procurement Service’s expansion of public stockpiles and joint purchases by small and medium-sized enterprises, the domestic inventory of automotive elements and urea water, including contract quantities, has increased to 6.8 months’ worth, and contract quantities from third countries such as Vietnam are scheduled to arrive sequentially.
The Public Procurement Service plans to release 1,930 tons of vehicle elements currently in storage starting next week.
