The riots began after the Linköping City Council authorized a demonstration by Danish right-wing extremist Rasmus Paludan and his Stram Kurs (Hard Course) party. He is known for numerous anti-Islamic actions and announced that he would burn the Koran – which was ultimately cancelled. But the cancellation did not stop the angry Muslim youth from rioting.

The migrants, some of whom were masked, also attacked the police, repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar”. Police car windows were smashed. Three injured police officers had to be taken to a hospital.
Because two cars were also set on fire, the fire brigade arrived. But even that was promptly attacked by the Muslims, as a video shows.
