On the Russian website of the Kaiyi brand, information has appeared about a new version of the E5 sedan, which at the beginning of this year became the first Chinese model of the new wave on the Avtotor assembly line. The Standard version has been added to the Luxury, Luxury+ and Luxury Sport trim levels available today, and its main feature, as expected, is simplified equipment.
Compared to the Luxury package, side airbags are excluded from the list (only two front ones remain), an electric driver’s seat, a sunroof and heated rear sofa, 16-inch wheels are installed instead of 17-inch wheels, halogens are installed instead of LED headlights, and the seats are upholstered in fabric instead of leatherette. . The seven-inch color screen of the trip computer has given way to a 3.5-inch monochrome display. But the keyless entry system and cruise control remained. The power unit is the same: 1.5 turbo engine (147 hp) and CVT. There is still no manual transmission.
The question of pricing turned out to be interesting. We contacted the Kaiyi representative office with a request to clarify the recommended retail price. They will ask for the Standard version 2 million 110 thousand rubles. This is only five thousand cheaper than the Luxury package with noticeably richer equipment. The standard version will appear at dealers soon, but in limited quantities. As for such an insignificant difference in price, this will be corrected in October: an increase in retail prices for the existing sedan trim levels is expected. Now Kaiyi E5 Luxury costs 2 million 115 thousand rubles, the Luxury+ version is estimated at 2 million 160 thousand, and Luxury Sport – 2 million 193 thousand rubles.
