“New Variant of Coronavirus Spreading in Europe with Symptoms Causing Morbidity: Ministry of Health and Population Report”

The Ministry of Health and Population revealed the existence of a new variant of Corona that has spread in a number of European countries and has symptoms and health complications that cause morbidity for those infected.

The seventh day reviews an information analysis about the new variant in the following lines:

1- The Arcturus mutator is 1.16.XBB It is a strain of a mixture of subspecies of the mutant or micron

2- The Arcturus mutant was first reported on January 9, 2023

3- The Arcturus mutant has been classified by the World Health Organization as a mutant of interest

4- The new variant is characterized by its rapid spread.

5- 3648 samples of the Arcturus variant were reported from 37 countries and most of the samples reported from India (63.4, 2314 samples), followed by the USA (10.9 396 samples, Singapore 6.9 250 samples), Australia (39) 143 samples ), Canada 2.6 94 samples, Brunei 2.4 89 samples), the United Kingdom 2.1, 75 samples), Japan (2.0, 73 samples.

6- No infected cases have been discovered in Egypt yet.

7- So far, the global risk assessment of the Arcturus variant is currently low compared to other variants currently circulating.

8- Despite the rapid spread of the new mutant, no symptoms were reported in the severity of the disease.
