New update throws helicopters out of CoD Warzone

A new playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD: Warzone was released today, on the evening of May 5th, 2020 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. This brings the promised changes but also a few that nobody expected. We look at the patch notes.

What’s in the update? In today’s playlist update for Multiplayer from Modern Warfare and the Battle Royale Warzone has made a number of changes. This is revealed by an official tweet from the developer, which lists the patch notes:

  • Loot money trios are replaced with blood money trios
  • Helicopters are disabled in the Battle Royale
  • Pumped up 3v3 gun battle, ground war and “Ground War Reinfected” from last week’s update being deleted
  • Shipment 24/7 as a new playlist, replaces shoot or ship, doesn’t matter
  • Gun game becomes Gun Game Reloaded
  • Explosive command added
  • Ground war added on foot

In addition, new shop bundles, including the “Anime Express” bundle with pink trucks, are coming into the shop. That was before revealed in the preview for the patch on May 5th.

There are now chic trucks in the shop.

In addition to the innovations, there is currently an EP bonus for double experience points on weapons, the level and levels in the current Battle Pass. The bonus runs until May 8th.

At the There had been problems with the EXP last weekend.

Heli ban confuses players

How the players react: The players are lively discussing the new update. The biggest issues are gratitude for Shipment 24/7, as the mode is always well received and extremely popular, and the renewed demand for a duo mode for Warzone. However BR duos will appear as a mode anyway in the future.

However, there is great confusion on Twitter as to why the developers suddenly took helicopters out of the Battle Royale. This flying stand was already part of the release to the possible vehicles in Warzone.

Quads still exist – but where did the helicopters go?

Why is this ban coming? The players still don’t quite understand why exactly the helicopters had to leave the Battle Royale. The Twitter user O’Summer-Bear clarifies that there was apparently a bug with the helis that allowed players to glitch under the map.

In order to prevent the glitch, they had apparently been deactivated at least temporarily. Other players also point out that the helis, especially in the solo BR, are too strong and are particularly annoying.

For example, the helicopters often ensure that players simply stay out of the reach of others and sit out the lap without really trying. Such behavior MeinMMO author Benedict Grothaus has already given the worst lap in Warzone. We cannot say whether and when the helicopters will come back.
