Friday, July 30th updated the government their assessment of which countries receive quarantine requirements for unvaccinated people on the move. Italy and Iceland are two of the countries that will be orange on Monday night, August 2.

This means that travelers from these countries must, among other things, have a certificate of negative corona test before entry, test themselves at the border on arrival, and they must be in the entry quarantine.

Closed border crossings

The government has also stated that more countries will be green from Monday. This means that entry restrictions and quarantine requirements will be removed for Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria, among others.

Changes will also be made in Sweden from 2 August: Gotland, Halland, Skåne and Stockholm will go from green to orange and thus receive quarantine requirements. At the same time, Norrbotten and Värmland will be green.

Several people misunderstood the entry rules over the weekend, writes Østlendingen Sunday afternoon. Even though Värmland is now turning green, this does not mean that all border crossings are open, and that you can travel as you wish.

– We have received several calls from people who are at a closed border crossing. Then they are referred on to one of the transitions that are open, he says.

Early and late

The Inland Police also recommend that travelers use the border crossings at other times than between 1 pm and 7 pm. They also emphasize that it is not permitted to use border crossings other than those that are open.

– Have the necessary documentation ready when crossing the border. Then we get a better flow of traffic at the border control, and the waiting time will be shorter, says police station chief Gjermund Thoresen in Kongsvinger.
